The Ukraine and the Local Organising Committee officially revealed the 2015 EuroBasket logo complete with a professional presentation and a theme of ‘jumping into basketball’.
The official logo of the tournament was revealed moments before Spain and Croatia faced-off in the bronze medal game. It was then exposed to the fans inside the Stozice Arena at half-time of the same game.
Portuguese company Brandia Central, the same firm that created the UEFA European championship logo in 2012 made the logo signaling the best that the country has to offer.
Representatives from the Ukrainian Basketball Federation have been present throughout EuroBasket here in Slovenia as they witnessed the national team finish sixth, their best finish at a major tournament in its history. Ukraine have qualified for next years FIBA World Cup in Spain, an achievement that has come as a surprise to most.
The dates of the tournament have not been finalised at the moment, but the venue choices of Odessa, Lyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Donetsk and Kyiv has been announced by the LOC. The final round of Eurobasket 2015 will be played in Kyiv with the second round to be played either in Donetsk or both Donetsk and the capital city.
The total cost of the tournament is expected to cost around 1billion Ukrainian hryvnia [€905million] with nine new training facilities to be built around the country and once Eurobasket concludes, six of them will then turn into sports centers designed for the young and aspiring basketball players.
