51 years ago, the Milwaukee Bucks selected Lew Alcidor (later to be known as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar) with the No.1 pick in the 1969 NBA draft.

Jabbar started his NBA career in a high-note, after the Bucks landed the top pick by winning a coin-toss with the Phoenix Suns.

In particular, the UCLA alumni averaged 28.8 points and 14.5 rebounds in his rookie season and made the All-NBA Second Team.

Furthermore, Alcidor was offered an $1 million deal by the Harlem Globetrotters, while he was also the top pick in the ABA draft.
