Zalgiris have brought back Greek playcaller Ilias Zouros to lead the Lithuanian champions next season.
Zouros was controversially let go in the early stages of the 2011-12 Euroleague season and replaced by Aleksandar Trifunovic. Zouros replaces outgoing coach Joan Plaza, who led the club to an LKL title last season.
The 47-year-old comes with valuable experience. A former Eurocup Coach of the Year with Panellinios of Greece, has also coached Olympiacos, Peristeri and Aris in his home country. He also coached Sagesse Beirut to the Lebanese League title and the Asian Club championship and spent a season-plus with Paris Racing Basket of France, as well as reaching the 2010 Eurocup finals with Panellinios.
