It is still unclear if and when the NBA season will be resumed. The teams have a big interest to complete the season. If it resumed, the most likely period when it could happen is the summer. While this season there is almost no other choice but to play in the summer, could it result in long-term NBA schedule changes?

For that to happen, the players would have to agree. It seems at least some players would favor such change, provided it increases revenue.

“Long term, though, players would have to get on board. Several players told SI.com that they would be open to a summer schedule, provided it resulted in a boost in revenue. “Money talks,” texted one veteran player. The current collective bargaining agreement expires in 2024. The NBA’s rights deals expire in 2025, creating, perhaps, a window for the league to explore a change.”
