Anadolu Efes won its seventh straight Euroleague game by defeating CSKA Moscow 63-60 in Istanbul to go to 7-1 in Group E of the Top 16 phase.

CSKA looked good value for their double digit lead in the first quarter, but the hosts came back into the game and a 22-14 final quarter and surviving respective three-point attempts from Milos Teodosic and Zoran Erceg gave Anadolu Efes a vital win.

Jordan Farmar led the winners with 15 points while Teodosic set a new Euroleague career high of 26 points to lead the Russian champions – but it was all in vain.

“We were not concentrating on the game plan at the beginning,” explained Anadolu Efes’ coach Oktay Mahmuti, “It’s because maybe my players were affected by the atmosphere and felt a little bit of pressure.

“As a result of that, we didn’t play good basketball in the first half. But we were better in the second half. We did the small details better, remained cool in crunch time and had a very important win. The support of our fans was amazing tonight. But it puts much more responsibility on our shoulders that we have to play better and better. We have to add important wins to this one to make it more meaningful.”

CSKA drop to 5-3 with this result and share third place with Panathinaikos.
