The New York Knicks have postponed the 50th anniversary celebration of the 1969-70 championship due to coronavirus concerns.

According to SNY’s Ian Begley, the players of the 1969-70 team had concerns about travelling to New York amidst the crisis as most of them are over 70 years of age.

According to the CDC, elderly people are more vulnerable to the virus. The event was scheduled to take place in March, 21, with the presence of many Knicks legends like Willis Reed, Walter Frazier, Bill Bradley, Dick Barnett, John Warren, Don May and Cazzie Russell, per Marc Berman of the NY Post.

Rescheduling the event is not out of the question, per New York Post.
