The Brooklyn Nets trailed the Boston Celtics by 21 points in the third quarter at TD Garden, but Caris LeVert brought the Nets back. He hit three free throws with 0.2 seconds remaining in the game to force overtime, then scored all 11 of the Nets points in overtime. Brooklyn won 129-120.

LeVert finished with a career-high 51 points, including 18 points in the final five minutes of regulation.

Trailing in the fourth quarter, Nets’ coach Kenny Atkinson played Chris Chiozza and Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot instead of Spencer Dinwiddie and Joe Harris. The move helped spark a rally by Brooklyn so Atkinson stuck with Chiozza as well as Luwawu-Cabarrot late in the fourth quarter and in overtime.

For Boston, Jayson Tatum missed the game with an illness and Gordon Hayward was forced out of the game after playing just 17 minutes due to a knee contusion. Marcus Smart fouled out in overtime.

Brooklyn outscored Boston 51-34 in the fourth quarter and 11-2 in overtime.

The Celtics will go on the road and take on the Cleveland Cavaliers Wednesday.

The loss snapped the Nets’ four-game losing streak. The game also concluded a four-game road trip for the Nets, who return home to take on the Memphis Grizzlies Wednesday.
