Fenerbahce’s Emir Preldzic has become the the first Euroleague Player of the Week for round one of the 2012/13 season.

Playing on a team where a lot of the focus was on new recruits Bo McCalebb, Mike Batiste and Romain Sato, Preldzic crept up to deliver the Euroleague’s single most impressive performance in round one.

The Turkish international led his team with 20 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals with an index rating of +31, coming off the bench as Fenerbahce comfortably beat BC Khimki 92-80 on Thursday night at the Ulker Sports Arena.

Preldzic had 11 points at half-time after coming on late in the first quarter and never stopped working for new coach Simone Pianigiani. The index rating of +31 was a career high for the small forward.

Fenerbahce, widely considered as a potential Final Four side travel to Slovenia next week to face Union Olimpija.
