Panathinaikos have announced their second summer signing, this time Sofocles Schortsanitis, who returns to Greece after spending the past two seasons in Israel, playing for Maccabi Tel Aviv.
The Greek international center has signed a three-year deal, and he will probably replace Batiste, who is unwilling to renew his contract due to Panathinaikos low offer.
Schortsanitis spend the better part of his career at arch-rivals Olympiacos where he played for five seasons from 2005 to 2010.
From 2010 to present he spent his second abroad stint with Maccabi, after playing in Italy during the early stages of his career.
On other news, Panathinaikos is close to keeping Kostas Tsartsaris, while they are still negotiating with Kostas Kaimakoglou, Stratos Perperoglou and Ian Vouyoukas.
