Greece have started their London 2012 basketball tournament bid in the best possible way, after thrashing Jordan, 107-63 in Caracas.

Being one of the favourites to qualify for London 2012, alongside Russia and Lithuania, the Greek players showed no mercy to Jordan at any point of the game.

Jordan started off the game with a zone defense, but the Greeks had the answer and took an early lead of 33-12 after the end of first quarter.

Things got even easier for the European side in the next quarter and thanks to their strong rebounding and fast breaks Greece increased their lead at half time, 56-23. It should be mentioned that all eleven players used by Elias Zouros during the first half scored, while Printezis topped the category with 10 points.

The second was nothing to be remembered as the big question was whether Greece would end the game with a double score or not. Reaching triple digit scoring and having five players with double digit scoring, the final 107-63 score can be only seen as complimentary for the Jordanian side.
