Patrick Beverley of Spartak St. Petersburg has scooped the 2001/12 Eurocup MVP award as the regular season accolades were confirmed.

The American guard, famed for his TV stint on Nike Battlegrounds in 2005 was also named in the All-Eurocup first team alongside Zoran Planinic of BC Khimki, Nik Caner-Medley of Valencia and capped off with the duo of Jonas Valanciunas and Ronnie Seibutis of Lietuvos Rytas.

Beverley has led Spartak to the best record in this season’s Eurocup, leading to a place in the Finals in Khimki where they will face the hosts next Saturday. The 23-year-old leads the team in scoring (12.9), steals (2.0), and performance index rating (16.9) as well as being second in rebounds (4.1), assists (3.8) and three-pointers made.

Spartak have lost only once this season and go into the Eurocup Final Four as favourites. The other game will be between Lietuvos Rytas and Valencia.

Lithuanian international Valanciunas won the Eurocup Rising Star Trophy as the breakthrough star helped the Vilnius club reach the Finals.

The other award was the All-Eurocup second team, which went to Beverley’s backcourt partner Yotam Halperin, Ramel Curry of BC Donetsk, Pavel Pumprla of CEZ Nymburk, Jeremiah Massey of Lokomotiv Kuban and Bojan Dubljevic of Buducnost.
