Lithuanian champions Zalgiris are expected to announce the signing of one more player. The latest report suggests that Sonny Weems will put pen on paper later this week.

Weems (24, 1.98 m) decided to use the NBA lockout to improve his skills by playing abroad. He became an unrestricted free agent which gives him an opportunity to freely sign a contract with a team outside of the NBA.

Alex Kennedy of HoopsWorld.com posted a message on his Twitter saying that the deal between Weems and Zalgiris is expected to be finalized later this week.

As it was previously reported, Weems will sign a one-year deal without an option to leave his new club once NBA lockout is over.

Weems will make his debut in Europe after three years in NBA. 24-year-old forward/guard averaged 9.2 points and 2.6 rebounds last season making it his most successful year so far.
