The USA and Serbia are the biggest favourites for the coming FIBA World Cup 2019. In 2002 the FIBA World Basketball Championship as it was called back then took place in the United States.

The hosts faced a star-studded Yugoslavia which mainly had Serbian players on its roster in quarter-finals. The team led by the likes of Dejan Bodiroga, Vlade Divac, Peja Stojakovic and Marko Jaric defeated the Americans 81-78 and eventually went all the way to claim gold.

Meanwhile Team USA included Paul Pierce, Reggie Miller, Ben Wallace, Baron Davis and Jermaine O’Neal.

During the game Dejan Bodiroga walked to Reggie Miller … to use his towel leaving the American star confused at what has just happened.
