Greece won the 49th World Military Basketball Championship last night overcoming the host team of Lithuania in the final game. Lithuanians were the grand favourites for the gold as they had reached the final with a perfect 5/5 record beating the United States in the semi finals but Greece surprised them and won with Lukas Mavrokefalides of Olympiacos Piraeus being their best player.
This year's World Military Championship was held in Klaipeda, Lithuania and the 10 nations competing were: Greece, Italy, USA, Kazakhstan, China, Cyprus, South Korea, Latvia, Lithuania and Germany.
