Larry BrownFrance will have to win additional qualifying tournament in order to qualify for Eurobasket 2009 and it seems that they could have a big name helping them. BasketNews.net reported that Larry Brown is in talks with the French Basketball Federation (FFBB) regarding the possibility of him becoming the head coach of France national team.

Larry Brown has a huge coaching experience having started this job back in 1972 with Davidson College. He also worked with nine NBA teams. Brown is the only coach who won both NCAA and NBA titles (with University of Kansas in 1988 and Detroit Pistons in 2004).

He also has experience of coaching at the international stage as he was the head coach of USA national team during Athens Olympic Games. Americans returned home with the bronze medals then.

Yvan Mainini, President of the FFBB, refused to make any comments about the negotiations. The new head coach of France will be officially announced on March 4.
