The Chicago Bulls forward Jabari Parker played just four minutes and was scoreless against the Orlando Magic on Thursday.
The Bulls head coach Jim Boylen explained his decision to reduce Parker’s playing time by “matchup things”, but, according to Malika Andrews of ESPN, from now on Parker will be out from the regular rotation.
Speaking about his new situation, the 23-year-old player said, per ESPN: “It is a surprise because I did everything I could in the time I was given. But it is what it is. You can’t pout. You just got to keep moving.”
According to Dan Devine of The Ringer, coach Jim Boylen plans to divide Parker’s minutes between Lauri Markkanen, Bobby Portis and rookie Chandler Hutchison.
Last summer, Parker signed a two-year (second year is a team option), $40 million contract with the Bulls. This season, former No. 2 overall pick is averaging 15.2 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game.
