Barcelona beat Union Olimpija in Palau Blaugrana with 76-58 and finished the group with a perfect 6-0 record.

Not that any of the results mattered as the qualifying spots where already decided after Barca’s win over Maccabi in Tel Aviv, tonight’s game was nothing more than a matter of pride.

Olimpija managed to stay close throughout the first three quarters mostly thanks to the offensive efforts of Kenny Gregory and Goran Jagodnik who had 11 and 8 points respectively up until that point.

The hosts entered the final period being up by seven (51-44) and soon after a 3-pointer by Sasu Salin cut the margin to just four. That triggered a 9-0 run by Barcelona for the 60-47, before Olimpija would score again with Gregory pouring in his final two points of the game. Not much to say from that moment on as the outcome was already decided in an indifferent game. Xavi Pascual’s troup run an additional 7-0 in the final two minutes of the game for the final 76-58.
