Mirza Begic is the subject of a lot of controversy lately, but the truth is that there are three Euroleague clubs interested in him.

The three clubs are Real Madrid, Maccabi Tel Aviv and Caja Laboral and they have all made an offer to the player.

Already some weeks ago it was rumoured that Real Madrid was scouting Begic for the next season, but the developments have made the Spanish club to hurry up their offer for the Slovenian center. Although Messina has already two top centers such as Tomic and Fischer, Begic would be a reliable option from the bench.

Maccabi Tel Aviv is looking to strengthen their front line as well. The club is looking to get rid of Richard Hendrix who has been disappointing, while Yaniv Green could also leave, but in any case his age and condition doesn’t allow him to be very competitive on Euroleague level so Begic will be complimenting Schortsianitis and Macvan.

Caja Laboral made a mistake by signing Marcus Heislip and they are now looking to correct it. They are also interested in Esteban Batista, but Fuenlabrada is demanding a bigger buy-out than Caja Laboral can afford, so they have also made an offer for the x-Zalgiris player who had a great Eruoleague regular season.

Begic is currently in Slovenia. It is now clear that the rumours about him and Olimpija were false, even though the Slovenian team had asked for the player’s LOC.  He is training with Olimpija only for practical reasons as his home is there and he needs to stay in shape. An article in a Lithuanian website linking Begic to Panathinaikos is also false.
