It might not be the title, but Liga Endesa side UCAM Murcia ended their Basketball Champions League season on a positive note.

Led by 18 points and nine rebounds from Sadiel Rojas, Murcia comfortably defeated Ludwigsburg 85-74 in the third-place game in Athens on Sunday afternoon.

Both teams shot 44.3 percent from the field in a game that seemed close on the statsheet but the Spanish side kept the lead for the majority thanks to a strong second quarter performance that saw their narrow 18-17 lead balloon to 42-32.

Ludwigsburg made a go of things and narrowed the gap to three points thanks to a jumper from Dwayne Evans with just two minutes of the fourth quarter played and 74-70 with just 2:07 left.

But Murcia maintained their composure when it mattered and they kept their noses in front thanks to solid execution in the last minute and a three-pointer from Charlon Kloof with 11 seconds left made the game well and truly safe.

Kerron Johnson led Ludwigsburg with 17 points.
