Greek League champion Panathinaikos Superfoods Athens reached a new agreement with power forward Kenny Gabriel to keep working together next season, the club announced Wednesday.

Panathinaikos has an option to extend his contract for one or two more years. Gabriel (2.03 meters, 28 years old) started the 2016-17 season with Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar, but joined Panathinaikos in late November. He went on to appear in 23 EuroLeague games with the Greens, starting more than half of them, averaging 5.2 points on 40.8% three-point shooting and 3 rebounds.

In the Greek League, Gabriel averaged 6.6 points on 47.1% three-point shooting and 3.3 rebounds in 21 games.

It was Gabriel’s second EuroLeague season, as he previously played the competition with Pinar Karsiyaka Izmir. He previously helped Karsiyaka reach the 7DAYS EuroCup semifinals and win the Turkish League title in the 2014-15 season. Gabriel also played for Maccabi Ashdod of Israel, AEL Limassol of Cyprus, AGO Rethymno of Greece and Taranaki Mountain Airs of New Zealand.
