EA7 Milano have offered former Italian national team coach Simone Piangiani a three-year contract for next season as the club look likely to part ways with current playcaller Jasmin Repesa.

A team used to winning, domestically, led by Repesa this season, Milano finished the EuroLeague rock bottom and were eliminated in the Italian Lega Basket Playoffs in the semi-finals by Aquila Basket on their home floor.

But despite retaining the Italian Cup in February, Milano are keen to move in a different direction.

Pianigiani though has one year remaining on his contract with Hapoel Jerusalem but it will difficult for him to decline the multi-year offer and a coaching job back home.

The Siena native led Jerusalem to the EuroCup semi-finals last season and was the national team coach of Italy from 2009 to 2015.

It has been reported that veterans Krunoslav Simon and Zoran Dragic have decided to stay in Milan next season with Mantas Kalnietis staying put as well.
