ImageSome days ago Pini Gershon made it publically known that he is displeased with his center Maciej Lampe and his wish was to replace him and according to the Israeli sports website Sport5.co.il Maccabi is targetting Dimitrios Mavroeidis of Maroussi BC or Vladimir Golubovic of Union Olimpija.

Both teams are facing financial difficulties at the moment and a possible cash injection from a player sell could go a long way, especially for the Slovenian club.

Mavroeidis is having his breakthrough season and is leading Maroussi's front line which is one of the best in Euroleague so far, especially when it comes to defense, the area with which Gershon is unhappy with Lampe. A lot could depend on Maroussi's result against Roma for Euroleague which will show if the Greek club will be knocked out of the competition or continue to Top16, in which case they would not want to sell one of their best players.

Golubovic is also having a solid season so far and Olimpija could be willing to sell him for the right price as they are practically out of Euroleague Top16 by now.

Of course in order to move for either of the players Maccabi will have to first release Lampe, something not easy considering the contract they have with the player and even in case they go through with the transfer the player would not be eligible to play in Maccabi's Euroleague games until Top16 phase.
