The Miami Heat have waived forward Ian Schieffelin as the organization continues adjusting its roster ahead of the 2026-27 NBA regular season.
The decision was announced alongside the signing of forward/center Ezra Ausar, who previously played for Miami during Summer League.
Schieffelin appeared in three preseason games for the Heat, averaging 7.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 14.7 minutes per contest.
He also participated in five Summer League games with Miami, recording averages of 8.4 points and 3.6 rebounds.
Despite receiving opportunities during both Summer League and preseason action, Schieffelin will not remain with the team following the latest roster move.
Meanwhile, Ausar joins Miami after averaging 7.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.0 steals in three Summer League appearances.
The former USC player also shot 63.6% from the field during his time with the Heat’s Summer League squad.
