The Clippers are hoping to keep restricted free agent Bennedict Mathurin after acquiring the young wing from the Pacers in the trade that sent Ivica Zubac to Indiana.

Mathurin put together a strong 2025/26 campaign, averaging 17.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.4 assists in 54 appearances.

While he continued to produce offensively, his outside shooting slipped to a career-low 31.5 percent after connecting on 34.0 percent of his three-point attempts during Indiana’s run to the 2024/25 NBA Finals.

Mathurin is represented by Nima Namakian.

Los Angeles is also reportedly monitoring restricted free agent Peyton Watson of the Nuggets.

Denver has the right to match any offer sheet Watson signs and is believed to be committed to retaining him, although a sign-and-trade scenario has not been ruled out.

The Clippers have undergone a major roster overhaul this year, moving on from Kawhi Leonard, James Harden, and Ivica Zubac while collecting three first-round draft picks in return.

One of those selections became Keaton Wagler, whom the franchise chose with the No. 5 overall pick in June’s draft.

According to a league source, landing the fifth overall selection from Indiana in the Zubac trade gave the organization a significant boost, as it marked the Clippers’ highest draft position since they selected Blake Griffin first overall in 2009.

Another Western Conference executive added that opposing teams are paying close attention to the Clippers’ next moves, citing the franchise’s increased financial flexibility and growing collection of future draft assets.
