Aris is trying to sign yet another member of the Greek squad that won gold in the 2005 Eurobasket ,namely Lazaros Papadopoulos. The Greek center is expected to be released on a free by Real Madrid within the next days.
This possible transfer can only be seen in context with the transfer of Kostas Papanikolaou to Olympiacos which would bring about 1 million euros to the club from Thessaloniki, which could then be used to sign Papadopoulos.
Dimos Dikoudis, Michalis Kakiouzis and Nikos Hatzivrettas are already parts of next season's Aris squad which is aiming high in the upcoming season, with the most urgent target being to qualify for Euroleague groups.
