The Los Angeles Lakers have agreed to a two-way contract with guard Peter Suder, NBA insider Michael Scotto reported on Wednesday, June 24. The move gives the Western Conference contender another developmental guard after Suder earned MAC Player of the Year honors at Miami (OH).

Suder finished his senior season in 2025-26 averaging 14.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 33 games, all starts, while shooting 54.6% from the field and 42.1% from three-point range. He also posted a 60.7% effective field goal percentage, the best mark of his college career.

The 6-foot-4 guard spent his first two college seasons at Bellarmine before transferring to Miami (OH), where his production increased significantly. In his junior season, Suder averaged 13.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 3.8 assists while shooting 49.7% overall and 35.1% from deep.

Across four college seasons, Suder played 130 games and started all of them, averaging 12.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.4 assists. His career shooting profile included a 47.9% field goal percentage, 33.1% three-point shooting and 75.4% free throw shooting.

The Lakers entered the 2026 offseason coming off a 53-29 regular season and a Pacific Division title before falling to the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference semifinals.

The two-way contract route allows Suder to develop within the Lakers’ system while providing depth if injuries or roster changes create opportunities.
