ImageA move which was expected since early summer is now official, CSKA and Alexey Savrasenko parted ways after many years of successfull collaboration.

Savrasenko had a valid contract until next year but the two sides agreed on a mutual termination. Savrasenko had joined the Army club in 2002 coming from Olympiacos and has won 6 Russian Championships, 3 Russian Cups and 2 Euroleague titles with the blue-red jersey.

Savrasenko stated:

"I would like to thank the club for the time I passed here. A huge thanks to the fans who supported me and were worried and interested about me during difficult times. I would like to especially thank Sergey Valentinovich Kushenko who brought me to the club and gave me the opportunity to play for this club"

CSKA's president Vatutin stated:

"Letting Alexey go, after all these successfull years is sad and we thank him for everything he has done for the club. I am sure that the feeling is mutual from Alexey's side too, regarding the club. CSKA decided to invest in young centers and Savrasenko had to leave, although he is still capable of playing at the highest level, something he proved during last season's Russian league play-offs. I would like thank Alexey who agreed to terminate his contract. I wish my friend the best of luck in his professional career."
