Despite Brooklyn’s struggles this season, which have dropped his career record as a head coach to 46-116 (.284), the Nets head coach Jordi Fernandez said he remains grateful for the opportunity and support he’s received from the organization.

Speaking this week, he emphasized how meaningful the role is to him, according to C.J. Holmes of The New York Daily News.

“This job means a lot to me and my family,” Fernandez said, adding that Brooklyn is “home for us and will be home forever.”

Now in his second year, Fernandez expressed hope that he’ll be able to guide the team through its rebuilding phase and eventually into contention.

“My goal is not just to keep it but help the organization with the plan that we have and build success and sustain it,” he said. “Good things are going to happen in the long run.”
