The Hawks have waived forward Caleb Houstan, the team announced, and are expected to sign center Tony Bradley for the remainder of the season to fill the open roster spot, sources told ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Bradley has been out of the NBA since late January, when his second 10-day deal with the Pacers ended, which makes him eligible for the playoffs.
Atlanta is in need of frontcourt depth after Jock Landale suffered a high ankle sprain that will keep him sidelined for at least two weeks.
The 28-year-old big man began the season with Indiana before being waived ahead of his contract becoming fully guaranteed, then returned on back-to-back 10-day deals.
The Hawks will mark his sixth NBA team in his eighth season, and he has prior familiarity with head coach Quin Snyder from their time together in Utah.
Houstan, 23, had recently been converted from a two-way deal to a standard contract but saw limited playing time with Atlanta, averaging just 4.2 minutes across 18 games.
He spent most of the season in the G League, where he put up 16.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.0 assists while shooting efficiently.
Originally drafted 32nd overall by Orlando in 2022, Houstan appeared in 168 games over three seasons with the Magic before joining the Hawks.
