Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks will be back in action Tuesday in Orlando, per Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic.
The update isn’t surprising, as earlier reports pointed to a return early in Phoenix’s road trip, which began with a win in Memphis. Still, it’s a big boost for the team.
Brooks has been out since February 21 after breaking his left hand against Orlando, making his return against the same opponent a notable coincidence.
In his first season with Phoenix, the 30-year-old has played 50 games, averaging a career-high 20.9 points along with 3.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.0 steal on .440/.343/.856 shooting.
Though initially expected to miss four to six weeks, he’ll return just over five weeks after surgery.
Brooks and Mark Williams (left foot stress reaction) recently took part in consecutive 5-on-5 practices.
“We got out of it alright,” head coach Jordan Ott said. “Now you just got to see how it responds the day after. … They’ve both taken steps. They’re just ready to play. We’re ready to have them.”
Williams, out since March 3, is expected to return later in the trip. Meanwhile, Grayson Allen (left knee), Haywood Highsmith (right knee), and Amir Coffey (left ankle) all remained sidelined.
