Franz Wagner has been sidelined for the Orlando Magic for an extended period, missing 20 straight games and appearing just four times since December 7 due to a left high ankle sprain.
However, there have been encouraging signs recently regarding his recovery, according to Jason Beede of Orlando Sentinel.
Wagner has resumed contact activities and even participated in practices with the Osceola Magic during a short G League assignment this week, suggesting he is moving closer to a return.
With only nine games remaining in Orlando’s regular season, the window is narrowing for Wagner to get back on the court and build momentum ahead of the playoffs.
Still, head coach Jamahl Mosley made it clear that there won’t be any strict requirement for Wagner to log a certain number of games before the postseason.
“That’s not a rule I’m putting in,” Mosley said. “If he’s available, he’s playing.”
