Kris Dunn could see his $5.7MM salary for next season become fully guaranteed, depending on certain conditions. His deal will lock in if he earns All-Defensive honors or remains on the Clippers’ roster beyond June 30, 2026.

When asked by Justin Russo about whether he considers player incentives when managing minutes, head coach Tyronn Lue made it clear Dunn’s place on the team isn’t in question.

Dunn had previously been ineligible for All-Defensive recognition despite playing 74 games due to not meeting the minutes requirement.

“(His salary)’s gonna be guaranteed regardless. … As long as I’m here, I want KD,” Lue replied.

“He means a lot to the team. Everything he brings: His unselfishness, who he stands for as a person. He’s just a winner; he does all the winning things. And so whether he makes (an All-Defensive team) or not, which I hope he does for him, he’ll be here (next season).”

The 32-year-old guard has been a consistent presence this season, averaging 7.7 points, 3.6 assists, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.6 steals in 27.6 minutes per game while shooting efficiently.

He has yet to miss a game and has already qualified for All-Defensive consideration, though the final decision rests with voters.
