Stephen A. Smith stated on his radio program that Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers intends to retire once the season ends, but Rivers firmly dismissed the report, according to Eric Nehm of The Athletic.

Speaking to reporters after Friday’s practice, the veteran coach made it clear he does not plan to engage with the speculation and rejected the idea that he is preparing to step away from coaching.

“No, I’m not getting into that,” Rivers said when asked about Smith’s claim after Friday’s practice. “That’s something that; I think he feels that way, but not for me.”

Rivers, 64, remains under contract through next season, further suggesting there is no immediate indication he plans to retire.
