
The Charlotte Hornets outlasted the Boston Celtics 118-89 to extend their winning streak to six games on Wednesday night.
Kon Knueppel had 20 points, while Brandon Miller and LaMelo Ball added 18 points each. Coby White added 17 points and six assists to help the Hornets move above .500 for the first time since Oct 26.
Charlotte never trailed and led by as many as 29 points while committing only five turnovers.
Derrick White led the Celtics with 29 points. Jaylen Brown added 20 points and 11 rebounds as Boston’s win streak was stopped at three games.
Boston came out struggling in their sixth game in nine days, shooting just 38% from the field and committing 16 turnovers. They only converted 10 of 36 attempts.
The Hornets played their second night of a back-to-back, but went out an 8-0 burst as the Celtics missed their first eight shots.
The Celtics’ shooting issues continued into the second quarter, with the team as low as 25% at one point.
Charlotte had only two turnovers in the first half, which gave them an advantage and built a 64-43 halftime lead.
Both teams will play home games on Friday: the Hornets host the Heat, while the Celtics host the Mavericks.
