The Houston Rockets and Washington Wizards will meet Monday at Capital One Arena with both teams dealing significant injury issues.

Houston will be without Steven Adams, Jabari Smith Jr., Jae’Sean Tate, and Fred VanVleet. Adams is recovering from left ankle surgery, Smith and Tate are sidelined with ankle and knee sprains, and VanVleet is out following right knee ACL repair. Tristen Newton remains inactive on a two-way contract.

The Wizards enter the game with a long injury list of their own. Key absences include Leaky Black (left ankle), D’Angelo Russell (not with team), Trae Young (right knee MCL sprain and quad contusion), Alex Sarr (right hamstring), Anthony Davis (left finger), and Cam Whitmore (right shoulder DVT). Kyshawn George, Anthony Gill, and Tristan Vukcevic are all listed as questionable.

Houston’s recent form has been mixed, dropping a 105-115 loss to the Miami Heat on February 28 after a 113-108 win over the Orlando Magic on February 26. The Rockets sit 3rd in the Western Conference at 37-22.

The Wizards, struggling at 16-43 and 13th in the Eastern Conference, are on a four-game losing streak. They fell 125-134 to the Toronto Raptors and 96-126 to the Atlanta Hawks in their last two games.

Houston will rely heavily on Kevin Durant and Alperen Sengun, averaging 26.2 and 20.2 points per game, respectively, while Amen Thompson continues to lead the backcourt with 17.3 points and 7.6 rebounds per contest.

Washington will turn to Kyshawn George and Sarr to carry the scoring load, with George averaging 14.8 points per game and Sarr adding 17.2 points and 7.8 rebounds.

The two teams previously met on November 12, 2025, with Houston winning 135-112.
