Zach LaVine is expected to miss the remainder of the Kings’ season after undergoing surgery on his right hand following the All-Star break, according to league insider Chris Haynes.
The procedure comes after the Sacramento Kings guard sat out the team’s last three games due to what was initially described as a right fifth finger tendon injury.
LaVine’s production has dipped this season, as he is averaging 19.2 points per game, his lowest scoring average since the 2017/18 campaign, along with career lows of 2.3 assists and 2.8 rebounds.
Sacramento has struggled throughout the year, currently tied for the longest losing streak in franchise history at 14 games while holding the league’s worst overall record.
The veteran guard also holds a $48.9 million player option for next season, which is widely expected to be exercised.
