Draymond Green said a recent conversation with head coach Steve Kerr made ongoing trade speculation feel more real after the Golden State Warriors fell 113-94 to the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday, dropping to 27-24 while the Sixers improved to 29-21.

Green addressed the uncertainty surrounding his future, stating, “No, it’s not a distraction… it kind it just is what it is,” while acknowledging that the possibility of a move has grown clearer in recent days.

The veteran forward revealed that Kerr checking in personally shifted his perspective. “That’s when it got real for me… He was like, ‘Uh, how you doing?’… And then he’s like, ‘How’s Hazel handling it?’ And that’s when it got real to me,” Green said.

Golden State is navigating injuries to Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler alongside trade chatter tied to a potential roster shakeup, and the 14-year veteran described how the atmosphere can affect players differently. “It can for sure… you don’t know is this your last time taking the floor?” he said.

Green explained that his career stage shapes how he processes uncertainty compared to younger teammates. “I’m not trying to build a career anymore… I’m trying to sustain, get better, play well, and land the plane,” he said.

The four-time champion emphasized gratitude for his tenure with the franchise despite speculation linking him to potential deals. “If you would have told me 13 and a half years ago… would you sign it? and I would assigned it faster than you can blink,” Green said.

He also shared a personal moment that underscored the reality of the situation, recalling a conversation with his son. “Today on the way to the game, I spoke to my son about it. I was like, ‘Yo, what if I get traded?’… It’s just the business,” Green said.

Despite the external noise, the Michigan State product insisted he remains focused on daily routines. “It is business as usual… come out play go home come back tomorrow,” he said.

On the court, Philadelphia controlled the rebounding battle 55-34 and capitalized on 20 Golden State turnovers, with rookie VJ Edgecombe posting 25 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. Green finished with six points, seven rebounds and three assists as the Warriors struggled to maintain physicality.

The forward admitted the group’s competitive edge was lacking during the loss. “If I’m honest, I don’t think we quite had that tonight,” he said, stressing that effort must remain consistent regardless of trade outcomes.

Green added that he has not allowed speculation to create resentment toward the organization. “If that’s what’s best for this organization, that’s what’s best for the organization… I’ve been here for 13 and a half years,” he said.

Looking ahead to the trade deadline, he maintained a calm outlook about what comes next. “Maybe. I don’t know… if I have, like I said, it’s been an amazing run,” Green said when asked if he might have played his last game with the franchise.
