Bulls center Nikola Vucevic understands that Chicago could be busy at the trade deadline, especially with more than half of the roster set to hit free agency after the season.

Even so, Joe Cowley of The Chicago Sun-Times reports that Vucevic spoke positively about the current group and expressed a desire to stay together through the end of the year.

He described his teammates as a “great group” and pointed to the locker room’s collective motivation.

“There are a lot of guys that have a chip on their shoulders and want to prove people wrong because we’ve been doubted,” Vucevic said.

While he made it clear he’d like the chance to see what the team can accomplish, he also acknowledged the realities of the business side.

“I would like to see what we can do and where we can go this year, but the front office has to make decisions and we all understand that.”
