The Dallas Mavericks are reportedly setting a high bar for any team pursuing Naji Marshall. NBA insider Marc Stein reported that the Mavericks “are said to be unwilling to listen to any trade approaches that don’t feature a future first-round pick.”
Marshall, 28, is in Year 2 of a three-year, $27 million contract and has been a consistent contributor for Dallas. He is averaging 14.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.0 assists across 46 games this season, shooting 54.5% from the field and 30.6% from three-point range.
The forward has started 23 games while averaging 29.2 minutes per outing, providing versatility as both a scorer and rebounder. His efficiency inside the arc stands at 64.6%, making him a reliable two-way option in the Mavericks’ rotation.
Dallas currently sits 12th in the Western Conference with a 19-27 record, struggling to climb the standings in a competitive playoff race. The team’s front office sees Marshall as a valuable asset, but only if the return includes a first-round selection.
Other key Mavericks like Cooper Flagg and Anthony Davis continue to carry heavy workloads, with Flagg averaging 18.8 points and 6.4 rebounds, while Davis posts 20.4 points and 11.1 rebounds.
