Jalen Green suffered another setback Friday night in Atlanta, exiting the game after just four minutes, according to Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic.
Green left the bench and returned to the locker room, with the Phoenix Suns later ruling him out for the rest of the contest due to “precautionary right hamstring tightness.”
The early exit was a frustrating development for the player, who has dealt with recurring right hamstring issues for more than four months.
He had just returned Tuesday after missing 33 straight games, scoring 12 points in 20 minutes off the bench in a win at Philadelphia.
Friday marked only his second appearance since November 8.
The setback closely resembled what happened earlier this season, when Green played 23 minutes in his Nov. 6 debut before re-injuring the hamstring just seven minutes into his second game two days later.
The former No. 2 overall pick initially strained the hamstring during training camp and aggravated it again during his mid-October ramp-up.
Green has now appeared in just four of Phoenix’s 45 games, with two of those outings ending early.
Head coach Jordan Ott recently said the team had been cautious during Green’s absence and that he had been playing under a minutes restriction since returning.
