The Toronto Raptors are still awaiting clarity on the status of rookie big man Collin Murray-Boyles after he exited Sunday’s game when his already sore left thumb was struck.

According to Michael Grange, the team has not yet provided an official prognosis. X-rays came back negative, and the Raptors announced Tuesday that Murray-Boyles is “undergoing further evaluation.”

Despite the uncertainty, Murray-Boyles has stepped into a larger role due to injuries elsewhere on the roster.

He has started nine games at center and has delivered solid production, averaging 10.6 points and 7.8 rebounds while providing strong interior defense, a development Grange highlights as a positive for Toronto amid ongoing health concerns.

Meanwhile, starting center Jakob Poeltl remains sidelined with a lower back strain. Grange reports that Poeltl returned to Toronto and is scheduled to visit a back specialist on Thursday.

His availability has been limited throughout the season, as he has appeared in just 21 games and has logged only one brief stint on the court since December 15.
