The Minnesota Timberwolves visit the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday, January 10, at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, tipping off at 1:00 PM ET. Both teams face injury challenges that could shape rotations and game plans.
Minnesota will be without Mike Conley (rest), Enrique Freeman, and Rocco Zikarsky (both two-way G League assignments), while Anthony Edwards and Julius Randle are listed as questionable with foot and thumb issues, respectively. Terrence Shannon Jr. remains out with a left foot strain.
The Timberwolves enter the game on a four-game winning streak, having beaten Cleveland 131-122 in their last meeting on January 8 and dominating Miami 122-94 on January 6.
Minnesota averages 119.9 points per game, led by Edwards (29.2 PPG), Randle (22.3 PPG), and Jaden McDaniels (14.9 PPG). Rudy Gobert contributes 11.3 points and 11.3 rebounds per contest.
Cleveland faces multiple absences as well. Chris Livingston, Luke Travers, Max Strus, and Dean Wade are all out, with Strus recovering from a Jones fracture in his left foot and Wade sidelined with a left knee contusion. The Cavaliers are on a two-game losing streak, having dropped 122-131 to Minnesota and 110-114 to Detroit.
Donovan Mitchell leads Cleveland with 29.8 points per game, supported by Evan Mobley (17.8 PPG, 8.7 REB) and Darius Garland (17.5 PPG, 6.9 AST). De’Andre Hunter adds 14.6 points, while Jarrett Allen contributes 13.8 points and 8.0 rebounds per outing. The Cavaliers score 119.3 points per game but will need to adjust without Strus and Wade.
Both teams sit near the top of their respective conference standings. Minnesota is 25-13, tied for fourth in the Western Conference, while Cleveland is 21-18, holding seventh place in the Eastern Conference.
