The New York Knicks visit the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday, December 31, with tipoff set for 7:00 p.m. ET at Frost Bank Center. Both teams enter with identical 23-9 records, setting up a high-profile interconference matchup.
New York arrives on a three-game winning streak after back-to-back road wins over Atlanta and a home victory against New Orleans. San Antonio has dropped two straight, falling to Cleveland and Utah after holding one of the league’s best records earlier in the month.
The Knicks will be without Josh Hart, who is sidelined by a right ankle sprain, removing a key rebounder and secondary playmaker from the lineup. Mitchell Robinson also remains out as part of left ankle injury management, limiting New York’s interior rim protection.
Landry Shamet is unavailable with a right shoulder sprain, while Ariel Hukporti is listed as questionable due to a lip laceration. Tyler Kolek is probable despite right ankle soreness and could see added ball-handling responsibilities.
Jalen Brunson continues to anchor the offense with 29.4 points and 6.6 assists per game, ranking among the league’s most productive guards. Karl-Anthony Towns provides interior balance with 22.0 points and 11.9 rebounds, giving New York a strong inside-out foundation.
Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby supply perimeter defense and spacing, both shooting above 36 percent from three-point range. Miles McBride and Jordan Clarkson are expected to absorb some of Hart’s minutes on the wing.
San Antonio’s injury report is highlighted by Devin Vassell being ruled out with a left adductor strain. His absence removes a reliable scoring option and places additional pressure on the backcourt rotation.
Stephon Castle is questionable with a left thumb sprain after averaging 18.5 points and 7.0 assists. Harrison Ingram and Stanley Umude remain out on G League two-way assignments, while David Jones Garcia is listed as questionable.
Victor Wembanyama remains the focal point, posting 24.0 points, 11.7 rebounds, and 3.0 blocks per game. De’Aaron Fox complements him with 21.6 points and 6.0 assists, driving pace and transition opportunities.
