Pelle Larsson delivered the best scoring performance of his career Friday night, putting up 21 points in his return to the Heat’s starting lineup after missing five games with a left ankle sprain.
According to Anthony Chiang, Larsson showed no signs of rust, shooting efficiently by hitting nine of his 13 attempts from the field and three of four from beyond the arc.
Coach Erik Spoelstra highlighted the effort Larsson put in during his rehab, noting how intense those sessions were, from early conditioning work to on-court drills.
He emphasized that Larsson consistently pushed himself to the limit and built enough conditioning to handle nearly 30 minutes of game action.
While game shape is always different, Spoelstra pointed out that Larsson’s energy, effort, and overall impact were immediately noticeable and valuable.
Larsson admitted he felt exhausted after his first game action in more than two weeks, but the Heat were thrilled to have him back.
His return provided more than just scoring, as his hustle and intangibles stood out for a team that had struggled recently, losing eight of its previous nine games.
Teammate Jaime Jaquez Jr. said Larsson’s presence brought a much-needed spark, describing him as someone who lifts everyone’s energy and gives the team life.
Jaquez added that stepping in and performing at that level after missing time spoke volumes about Larsson’s work ethic and overall impact on the group.
