Dennis Schroder delivered a dramatic game-winner with 2.2 seconds left in overtime, giving the Sacramento Kings a 125-124 victory over the Houston Rockets at Golden 1 Center on Sunday. Schroder finished with 24 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists off the bench, sparking Sacramento’s rally after trailing by five in the final two minutes of regulation.

DeMar DeRozan led the Kings with 27 points and nine assists, while Russell Westbrook added 21 points and 13 rebounds, helping Sacramento end a five-game losing streak. Keegan Murray contributed 26 points, and Maxime Raynaud posted a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds.

The game was tied late in regulation after DeRozan’s dunk and Westbrook’s corner 3-pointer, forcing overtime following Kevin Durant’s two free throws that had given Houston a 112-107 lead with 2:16 remaining. Multiple lead changes defined the extra period, including Westbrook missing a go-ahead three with 30 seconds left.

Schroder’s game-winning corner three came just eight seconds after Jabari Smith Jr. had given the Rockets a 124-122 advantage with free throws.

Houston’s Jabari Smith Jr. ended with 18 points, while Alperen Sengun led the Rockets with 28 points and six rebounds. Kevin Durant added 24 points and 10 boards but missed a potential game-winning jumper at the overtime buzzer. Smith’s string of four consecutive double-doubles came to an end.

The Rockets struggled early, falling behind by 10 less than four minutes into the first quarter, before Durant and Sengun combined for more than half of Houston’s second-quarter points to build a 68-57 halftime lead. Sacramento responded in the third and fourth quarters, cutting the deficit and forcing overtime.
