De’Aaron Fox scored 27 points and knocked down five three-pointers as the San Antonio Spurs defeated the Washington Wizards 124-113 on Sunday night at Capital One Arena. The victory pushed San Antonio to 21-7 while Washington dropped to 5-22.

Fox set the tone early with efficient perimeter shooting and steady ball control. He finished 10-of-19 from the field and added six assists, allowing the Spurs to dictate tempo for most of the night.

San Antonio broke the game open in the second quarter by outscoring Washington 43-21. The surge turned a two-point deficit into a 20-point halftime lead and removed momentum from the home team.

Luke Kornet provided a strong interior presence with 20 points and 12 rebounds. His work on the glass helped the Spurs generate second-chance opportunities and control the paint.

Victor Wembanyama continued his minutes restriction off the bench following a calf strain. He recorded 14 points and 12 rebounds in under 22 minutes and did not play meaningful minutes in the fourth quarter.

Wembanyama, Fox, and Castle combined for 30 points by halftime. Their production fueled the second-quarter run that shifted the game decisively in San Antonio’s favor.

Washington rested starters Alex Sarr and Khris Middleton after both played the night before. The Wizards struggled to keep pace defensively, particularly on the perimeter.

Bub Carrington led Washington with 21 points and four three-pointers. Tre Johnson added 19 points, while Tristan Vukcevic contributed 18.

The Wizards cut the margin to nine in the third quarter but could not sustain the push. San Antonio answered each run with timely shooting and defensive rebounding.

The Spurs finished with a 61-43 rebounding advantage and scored consistently in transition. Washington shot just 24 percent from three-point range, limiting its ability to close the gap late.

San Antonio has now won six of its last seven games and continues to climb the Western Conference standings. Washington has lost four straight at home despite returning from a road trip with two wins.
