The Atlanta Hawks picked up their seventh win in nine games with a 113-110 victory over the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday night at State Farm Arena.

Jalen Johnson led Atlanta with 28 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds while extending his streak of at least 15 points, five rebounds and five assists to eight games.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker added 23 points and five boards while providing the decisive defensive play of the night.

Dyson Daniels finished with 22 points and nine rebounds, and Onyeka Okongwu contributed 20 points in an efficient 8-for-18 outing.

Atlanta moved to 11-7 with the win and finished the game shooting 49% from the field and 35% from behind the arc.

Charlotte dropped its sixth straight contest and fell to 4-13 despite a standout offensive night from rookie Kon Knueppel, who scored 28 points and set a Hornets rookie record with seven made threes while continuing his strong November stretch.

Miles Bridges had 21 points, and Collin Sexton added 22 in a game defined by steady offense on both sides.

Charlotte entered the night shooting an NBA-best 41.5% from three but was held to 31.8% on a 14-for-44 performance.

The contest featured multiple momentum swings, including a 16-2 Hawks run that spanned the end of the third quarter and the start of the fourth.

Charlotte battled back and closed the gap to 112-110 with 11 seconds remaining after Knueppel attacked the lane.

Alexander-Walker then stripped the rookie on a drive, drew an immediate foul and split a pair of free throws.

The Hornets had one last chance, but Bridges’ contested three-point attempt at the buzzer fell short.

Atlanta relied on balanced scoring throughout the night with four starters reaching at least 20 points. The Hawks also held a narrow rebounding edge and limited Charlotte to nine offensive boards.

The Hornets finished shooting 45% overall but struggled to convert from long distance in key late-game possessions.

Charlotte also received 12 points and 11 rebounds from Mason Plumlee, while Sion James added seven points and six boards.

Atlanta continues its schedule Tuesday with a road game against Washington. Charlotte returns home and will host the New York Knicks on Wednesday.
