Lauri Markkanen poured in 47 points and Keyonte George hit a game-winning 3-pointer with two seconds remaining in the second overtime, lifting the Utah Jazz to a 150-147 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Sunday at the Delta Center. The win improved Utah to 5-8, while Chicago dropped to 6-6 and extended its losing streak to five games.
George finished with 33 points, including six in the second overtime, while Isaiah Collier and Brice Sensabaugh added 16 points each. Kevin Love and Svi Mykhailiuk contributed 10 points apiece as the Jazz scored the NBA’s highest point total of the season.
Coby White led the Bulls with 27 points, and Josh Giddey recorded a triple-double with 26 points, 12 rebounds, and 13 assists. Nikola Vucevic added 21 points, while Matas Buzelis and Ayo Dosunmu scored 18 each.
Chicago had a chance to win late in the first overtime, but White’s layup with 0.2 seconds left tied the score at 136, forcing the second overtime. Utah then took control as Markkanen and George combined for decisive baskets, including George’s go-ahead 3-pointer.
The Jazz overcame a seven-point deficit early in the fourth quarter with an 8-0 run capped by Brice Sensabaugh’s 3-pointer to take a 102-101 lead. Markkanen added 12 points in the fourth to keep Utah in contention, tying the game at 127 with 19 seconds remaining in regulation.
Markkanen also led Utah with 13 points in the third quarter, helping cut Chicago’s nine-point halftime lead to 98-94. The Bulls had built their halftime advantage on strong performances from Giddey and White, who combined for 24 points by the break.
Utah shot 44% overall and 37% from three-point range, while Chicago hit 45% from the field and 38% from deep. The Jazz also won the battle of the boards, grabbing 53 rebounds to Chicago’s 60, a crucial factor in a game featuring multiple lead changes and seven ties in the fourth quarter.
The Jazz will visit the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday, while the Bulls travel to Denver on Monday. Utah’s victory showcased Markkanen’s scoring dominance and George’s clutch playmaking in a historic, high-scoring affair.
