Josh Giddey recorded 21 points and eight rebounds as the Chicago Bulls defeated the Orlando Magic 110–98 on Saturday night at the Kia Center, improving to 2–0 on the season.
Jalen Smith added 16 points off the bench, leading a deep second unit that featured four Bulls scoring in double figures. Ayo Dosunmu and Nikola Vucevic each contributed 15 points, while Giddey’s all-around performance paced a balanced attack.
Chicago trailed early but gained momentum in the second half. After taking an 83–80 lead through three quarters, Dosunmu buried three straight 3-pointers in the fourth, sparking a decisive 11–5 run. Smith followed with a triple of his own to extend the advantage to 94–85, and the Bulls maintained control the rest of the way.
Vucevic finished 5-for-7 from the field and grabbed eight rebounds against his former team, while Giddey added three assists and shot 7-for-18 overall. The Bulls shot 47 percent from the field and hit 10 of 27 from deep.
Paolo Banchero led Orlando with 24 points and 10 rebounds but shot just 7-for-21 from the floor. The Magic struggled mightily from the perimeter, going 3-for-24 (12.5 percent) from 3-point range and 39 percent overall.
Anthony Black provided 19 points off the bench, and Franz Wagner scored 17 for the Magic, who fell to 1–2 after dropping consecutive home games. Wendell Carter Jr. added 13 rebounds but managed only eight points on 1-for-7 shooting.
The Bulls’ bench outscored Orlando’s reserves 56–32, a difference that proved critical in the fourth quarter. Patrick Williams, Devon Hall, and Smith each provided key stops and secondary scoring to help Chicago close out its second straight win.
The Magic will look to rebound Monday in Philadelphia against the 76ers, while the Bulls return home to host the Atlanta Hawks.
