AS Monaco (3–2) recovered from a slow offensive showing against Virtus Bologna by defeating Valencia Basket (2–3) 90–84 at Salle Gaston Médecin, led by Daniel Theis and Alpha Diallo.

The hosts jumped out to an early lead, thanks to 8 quick points from Matthew Strazel, before Valencia responded with a 2–8 run sparked by Josep Puerto. Nikola Mirotic, coming off the bench, helped Monaco regain control, scoring 5 consecutive points and capping an 8–0 run to start the second quarter.

Monaco’s first half was dominant, tying the club record with 57 points, shooting 20 of 30 from the field, and recording 12 assists.

Theis and Diallo led the scoring effort with 10 and 16 points, respectively, while Diallo added 5 rebounds and made key plays in the final minutes to secure the win. Mike James contributed 9 points and Mirotic finished with 15 points, giving Monaco a balanced offensive attack.

Valencia tried to fight back in the second half, outscoring Monaco 25–14 in the third quarter and 22–19 in the fourth. Puerto led the Spanish side with 13 points, while Brandon Badio added 18, and Darius Thompson contributed 10 points. Nathan Reuvers chipped in 10 points, but the visitors could not overcome Monaco’s strong start.

Monaco finished with 21 assists and shot 50% from two-point range. The team showed improved ball movement and offensive flow compared to their previous road loss, ensuring the home victory.

Monaco will travel to Hapoel Tel Aviv in Round 6, while Valencia faces EA7 Emporio Armani Milan on the road.
